Volunteer Attorney Successfully Helps Soldier with a Domestic Relations Matter
September 27, 2012
While a soldier was deployed in Afghanistan, he learned that his wife had become unfaithful and involved with criminal activities. When the soldier returned from Afghanistan, his wife informed him that she wanted a divorce. The soldier visited a military legal assistance attorney, who referred this case to the ABA Military Pro Bono Project, as this junior-enlisted soldier could not afford to hire an attorney to help with this matter. The Project located a volunteer attorney who worked with the soldier during all of the divorce proceedings and obtained a final divorce decree for the soldier.
