This Week’s Pro Bono Success Story
January 24, 2011
An Airman stationed in Arizona had a temporary court order that required him to pay child support and housing for the child’s mother. These required payments were at a level far beyond what the Airman could afford. The temporary court order also provided the mother with custody of their child, even though the mother was unable to provide a stable and healthy environment for the child. The Military Pro Bono Project was able to find a volunteer attorney in Arizona for the servicemember. The attorney successfully helped the Airman become the primary residential parent, along with the termination of child support payments and child support arrearages.
