After Husband’s Affair, DV Victim Sailor Obtains Divorce Settlement

A Navy servicemember’s husband had an affair and had also physically abused by her husband. She was concerned about the safety of herself and her newborn child. She sought assistance from her local military legal assistance office. Her JAG referred her case to the ABA Military Pro Bono Project, which matched her with an attorney in her area who helped her file for divorce.

With the attorney’s help, the parties came to an amicable agreement on all issues and successfully obtained a divorce.
