Dedicated Volunteer Attorney Helps Marine with Family Law Matter
A Marine stationed in California needed pro bono help with a divorce in New York. The servicemember and his wife have children, who live with the wife in New York. Although there would be a divorce and the Marine was stationed on the other side of the country, it was important to the servicemember to stay active his children’s lives. He wanted to establish a reasonable child visitation arrangement. The Military Pro Bono Project located an attorney in New York who volunteered to provide pro bono help to the Marine with the divorce proceedings. After dedicating over 120 hours of pro bono assistance, the volunteer attorney successfully helped complete the divorce and child custody order on the terms desired by the Marine.
